Kyrgyzstan has patented the brand "Ak Ilbirs" for all types of goods and services
The application for registration was submitted on June 7, 2025. This combined trademark includes both a graphic element and a textual part, and has been registered in all 45 classes of the International Classification of Goods and Services. This covers a wide range, including electronics, food products, and various types of services.
Sarypov clarified that the only successor of the trademark has become the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which now has the exclusive right to permit or prohibit the use of this logo by other legal and physical entities.
According to Sarypov, one of the main goals of the registration is to identify local producers and protect export products. He noted: "Now we will be able to monitor the situation within the country when imported goods are labeled as 'Made in KG' and resold. National registration allows us to oversee this process within Kyrgyzstan."
The specialist also added that currently the brand is protected only under the national procedure. In order for "Ak Ilbirs" to gain legal force outside the country and combat counterfeiting in international markets, it is necessary to register it under the international (Madrid) system.
Sarypov noted that plans are being considered at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry to submit an international application, which will allow the Kyrgyz brand to gain protection in other member countries of the system and officially establish the republic's status as a producer of environmentally friendly and high-quality products.
