The Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, Erlis Akunbekov, held a meeting with Liu Jiangping, the Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Kyrgyzstan.
According to the press service of the Cabinet of Ministers, the meeting discussed current issues of Kyrgyz-Chinese partnership, emphasizing important agreements reached during meetings between the President of the Kyrgyz Republic Sadyr Japarov and the Chairman of the People's Republic of China Xi Jinping, as well as the results of high-level bilateral visits.
The participants of the meeting noted that trade operations through the checkpoints "Torugart" and "Irkeshtam," located on the border of both countries, are carried out at a high level.
In addition, issues related to the implementation of several investment projects previously signed between the governments of Kyrgyzstan and China, as well as between companies of the two countries in the field of agriculture, were discussed.
Akunbekov emphasized that strengthening relations with neighboring China is a priority of Kyrgyzstan's foreign policy. He expressed the opinion that Kyrgyz-Chinese cooperation has been actively developing in recent years and expressed hope for further strengthening the strategic partnership between the two states.
