- On March 9, 2026, 56 tons of onions from Kazakhstan were detained at the "Ak-Tilek" road checkpoint. Employees of the Chui-Bishkek Department of the Ministry of Agriculture's Plant Protection, Quarantine, and Chemicalization Department identified violations related to documentation, as reported by the Ministry of Agriculture.

During the quarantine phytosanitary control, discrepancies were found between the data indicated in the phytosanitary certificate and the transport documents. As a result, the import of this batch of products into the territory of Kyrgyzstan was prohibited, and the cargo was returned to the sender, as stated in the official message.

This decision was made in accordance with paragraph 3.7 of the Regulations on the Procedure for Conducting Quarantine Phytosanitary Control in the territory of the Eurasian Economic Union, which was approved by the decision of the Customs Union Commission on June 18, 2010, No. 318.

The Ministry also reminded importers of the importance of strict compliance with phytosanitary standards when importing agricultural products.
