- In the period from January to February 2026, the volume of industrial production amounted to 147.8 billion soms, which is 15.5% more than in the same period of 2025. This was reported by the Deputy Chairman of the National Statistical Committee, Bakytbek Shokenov, at a press conference.

According to preliminary data, the growth in industrial production was driven by an increase in the output of products in sectors such as chemical and pharmaceutical industries, rubber and plastic products, construction materials, as well as wood and paper products. There is also an observed growth in printing activities, the production of vehicles, refined petroleum products, food and tobacco goods, basic metals, and in the extraction of mineral resources.

However, there is a decrease in the supply of electricity, gas, and steam, which is associated with a reduction in electricity production.

The gross agricultural output for the first two months of 2026 amounted to 29 billion soms, increasing by 2.6% compared to the same period last year, which was a result of growth in livestock production.

The construction sector showed an increase in gross output to 18 billion soms, representing a growth of 23.2%. This is linked to an increase in investments in fixed capital.

The volume of wholesale and retail trade turnover in January - February 2026 reached 303.4 billion soms, which is 11.4% more compared to the same period in 2025.
