“The creation of a common market for agricultural plant seeds within the EAEU is being carried out based on decisions made by national authorities and international agreements of the Union,” noted Goar Barsegyan, Minister of Industry and Agro-Industrial Complex of the EEC.
The purpose of this report is to enhance the efficiency of the agro-industrial complex of the EAEU states and improve the process of variety testing and seed production.
In addition, the meeting participants discussed the draft Report on the implementation of common principles of food security.
The project of the Decision of the Commission's Collegium on amendments to the EEC regulations concerning breeding livestock was also reviewed. This document proposes to expand the list of breeding traits for linear measurements of cows' exterior, as well as to clarify the methods for measuring them to assess the breeding value of dairy cattle.
The Committee approved the recommendations of the EEC Collegium on the implementation of digital technologies in the agro-industrial complex of EAEU countries and supported proposals for the development of trade and economic cooperation between member states and BRICS countries.
