"Coal export is needed not for profit, but for balancing the domestic market," - "Kyrgyz Komur"
He noted that the decision to grant export rights was made by the Cabinet of Ministers.
“Exports are primarily a tool for maintaining the domestic market, especially in conditions of coal shortages or sharp price increases,” he emphasized.
Sadyraliyev specified that the main export destinations are Uzbekistan and Tajikistan, with Uzbekistan accounting for about 80–90% of all supplies.
The exported coal, which is controlled by the enterprise, is transported by road, while railway supplies are carried out directly by entrepreneurs and coal mining companies based on contracts without oversight from "Kyrgyz Komur".
He also reminded about the introduction of restrictions on coal exports in October 2025, which was prompted by rising prices and fuel shortages in the southern regions of the country.
“These measures helped eliminate the coal shortage in the domestic market and reduced prices by about half,” he added.
Sadyraliyev also reported that this made coal more accessible for the population of the southern regions.
Later, in January-February, the export of large fraction coal became possible again.
