Rosselkhoznadzor Prohibits the Import of Seedlings from Kyrgyzstan

- From March 12 to March 19, 2026, employees of the Rosselkhoznadzor, acting in cooperation with the Border Guard Service of the FSB of Russia and the mobile group of the Astrakhan Customs, conducted phytosanitary control at the "Karaozek" checkpoint. As a result of the inspection, two batches of seedlings of flowering plants and fruit trees from Kyrgyzstan, totaling 131 thousand pieces, were discovered, which were attempted to be imported into the territory of the Astrakhan region.

During the inspection, it was found that the phytosanitary certificates for these seedlings were invalid.

Departmental representatives drew up acts of quarantine phytosanitary control and issued orders for the return of the identified products. Instructional talks were also held with the shippers regarding the rules for the movement of plant products with a high phytosanitary risk across the territory of the EAEU.

As of March 19, 2026, due to violations of quarantine phytosanitary legislation, 5 batches of plant products with a high phytosanitary risk were returned, totaling over 46 tons and 131 thousand seedlings.
