A simple way to quickly reduce anxiety levels has been found

A study published in the journal PLOS Mental Health has shown that listening to specially selected music for just 24 minutes can significantly reduce anxiety levels. Psychologists examined the impact of music combined with soft auditory rhythms on brain function.

In an experiment involving 144 adults suffering from moderate anxiety and receiving medication, participants were divided into groups: one group listened to "pink noise," while the other listened to music with rhythmic auditory stimulation of varying lengths. Anxiety levels and emotional states were assessed before and after the sessions using standard psychological scales.

The most noticeable results were achieved with 24 minutes of listening, which significantly reduced both psychological and physical manifestations of anxiety. This effect was comparable to longer sessions but exceeded the short-term 12-minute options. Music without rhythmic elements did not demonstrate such results.

The authors of the study emphasize that this approach could serve as a useful complement to traditional treatment methods. Music therapy does not require medication, has virtually no side effects, and can be used for quick anxiety reduction in everyday life.
