The Minister of Health of Kyrgyzstan, Kanbek Dosmambetov, while introducing the new head of the state enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacia," Bolot Junusov, emphasized the importance of revising the existing methods of procuring medical goods. He stressed that the new team should establish direct connections only with verified manufacturers, completely excluding intermediaries from the process.
Dosmambetov also noted that it is unacceptable to purchase medical equipment from "one-day firms" that disappear after delivery. This leaves medical institutions without necessary service support and guarantees. The Minister added that purchases should only be made from reliable international manufacturers capable of guaranteeing the durability of equipment for 15 years or more.
The main principle of the new strategy will be the transition to procurement based on international non-proprietary names, which will help avoid manipulation and pressure from specific brands.
The Minister stated: "Every tender must meet the real needs of the healthcare system, not the interests of individual commercial organizations."
Also, as part of the reform, the creation of a centralized service unit for the technical maintenance of medical equipment is planned, as well as the introduction of medical engineer positions in hospitals across the country.
