
A clinical expert from the Republican Center for the Control of Hemocontact Viral Hepatitis and HIV, Ulan Sarymsakov, shared current data on viral hepatitis in Kyrgyzstan as of January 1, 2026.
According to his information, the study began in 2022. During the examination for the presence of hepatitis B virus, 1,140,946 people were tested, of which 37,946 (3.33%) received positive results. A total of 1,137,130 people were tested for hepatitis C virus, with positive results found in 11,035 (0.97%).
Additionally, from 2024 to 2025, 26,925 people were examined for hepatitis D virus, of which 919 (3.4%) tested positive.
Ulan Sarymsakov noted that there are 19,325 people registered with hepatitis B, of whom 5,439 are receiving treatment. For hepatitis D, there are 3,363 people registered, 2,674 of whom are undergoing therapy. Regarding hepatitis C, 10,862 people are registered, with 6,890 receiving the necessary treatment.
The specialist also addressed the issue of vaccination against hepatitis B virus. He reported that the first dose of the vaccine was received by 312,447 people. The second dose was administered to 256,144 people, which is 82% of those vaccinated with the first dose. The third dose was received by 191,883 people, corresponding to 75% of those who underwent the second vaccination.
