To achieve an optimal weight by summer, it is necessary to follow a specific strategy, where the key steps are eliminating chronic stress, adjusting nutrition, and incorporating physical activity. This was stated by Andrey Martyushev-Poklad, a leading specialist at the NTI "Healthnet" and the "Health of the Healthy" union, in an interview with RIA Novosti.

“First and foremost, it is important to get rid of factors that cause chronic stress. Such factors include, for example, lack of sleep or poor sleep quality. It is also worth considering giving up alcohol, which is often used to relieve stress,” the expert emphasized.

The next step is to optimize the diet. It is not necessary to restrict calories; the focus should be on whole animal products, vegetables, and a minimal amount of carbohydrates, the doctor added. The final stage should be the introduction of physical activity into daily life.

According to Martyushev-Poklad, physical activity plays a less significant role in the weight loss process, accounting for only 20% of overall success, while 80% depends on proper nutrition. Therefore, relying solely on workouts for weight loss is ineffective.

“Nevertheless, once nutrition is optimized, simple exercises can be incorporated into daily practice. They should aim to regulate the nervous system (for example, rhythmic low-intensity movements and walking), activate hormonal processes in the body, as well as maintain physical activity through strength training and flexibility exercises,” he added.
