Frosts up to –35°C are expected in Kazakhstan

First of all, severe frosts will affect the North Kazakhstan, Akmolinsk, and Kostanay regions. Snowfalls, blizzards, and fog are expected on December 20, and by the morning of December 21, temperatures in these regions may drop to –30…–35°C.

In particular, temperatures in Petropavlovsk are predicted to reach –35°C, while in Astana it will drop to –27°C.

In the Pavlodar region, nighttime temperatures may reach –25°C, and blizzards and heavy snow are also possible. The Karaganda and Ulytau regions are expecting a drop in temperature to –20°C, while in the Abay and East Kazakhstan regions, it may drop to –25°C.

Meteorologists also warn of strong gusts of wind reaching 20 m/s, and snow and ice are expected on the roads.

Residents of northern and central areas are advised to avoid long trips and adhere to safety measures.
