As a result of a car fire in the Chuy region, the driver and his passenger died.
According to the regional police department, the incident occurred on January 20, 2026, at 09:53. The duty unit of the Moscow district police received a report of a fire on the eastern outskirts of the village of Spartak, near a lake, where a Volkswagen Golf-3 station wagon burned down.
An investigative operational group was dispatched to the scene, which found that there were two people in the car: the driver, O.E., born in 2000, and the passenger, T.S., born in 2010, a 10th-grade student of the secondary school. The driver was sitting in the front seat, while the passenger was in the rear right seat.
It was revealed that O.E. purchased his car on January 11, 2026, at the "Riom" car market. Two days later, he contacted electrician S.S. with a complaint about a malfunction of the left headlight. The specialist noted the extremely unsatisfactory technical condition of the vehicle, including exposed electrical wires, safety violations, as well as the smell of gasoline and smoke in the cabin. He warned the owner about the risks associated with further operation.
At the moment, the bodies of the deceased have been sent to the morgue, and forensic examinations have been appointed. Efforts are underway to establish all the circumstances of the incident.
