


From February 13 to 25, 2026, an operation called "Bandit" is taking place in Kyrgyzstan. According to the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek, over 30 citizens connected to organized crime groups were taken to the police in the first two days of the operation.
Among those detained, seven individuals faced administrative measures, while five were placed in a special detention facility of the Main Internal Affairs Department of Bishkek by court order. Additionally, pneumatic weapons and their replicas were confiscated during the operation.
The main objective of the operation is to identify and suppress the activities of organized crime groups, as well as to search for individuals evading justice. Furthermore, the operation aims to detect and seize illegally stored firearms, explosives, ammunition, and drugs.
As part of the operation, operational and investigative units of the capital's police are actively conducting a range of preventive and operational-search activities aimed at ensuring public safety and stabilizing the criminal situation in the region.
