On February 14, 2026, an attempt to illegally transport livestock across the border between Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan was stopped. This information was provided by the Border Service of Kyrgyzstan.
The incident occurred in the "Tajik Nasos" area in the Leilek district, near the state border. As a result of the actions of the border patrol, a citizen identified as N.E.M., born in 1988, was detained.
According to available information, the detainee attempted to transport livestock from Kyrgyzstan to Tajikistan outside of established crossing points. During the operation, 10 cows were stopped, which, according to preliminary data, were to be transported illegally.
The detainee and the livestock were sent to the unit of the State Border Service for further investigation and the processing of the necessary documents.
The Border Service emphasized that violations of the state border and attempts to illegally transport goods and animals carry responsibility in accordance with the legislation of the Kyrgyz Republic.
