Efforts continue in Bishkek to eliminate the emergency situation on the water main located in the 5th microdistrict. This information was provided by the press service of the city administration.
As of 14:00, the water mains were completely drained, and specialists are currently working on installing a reliable coupling on the cast iron water main with a diameter of 500 mm.
According to the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkekvodokanal," after all necessary adjustment works are completed, test runs will be conducted, as well as a phased connection of the pumping stations during the filling of the water main. These measures are being taken to prevent hydraulic shock.
We remind you that on the night of November 13, an accident occurred on the water main of the 5th microdistrict, caused by the actions of a third-party company, resulting in a temporary suspension of drinking water supply to the microdistricts: 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, as well as to Yuzh-7 and the Youth Quarter, in the private sector of the lower parts of the 3rd and 4th microdistricts, along Abay and Maldybaev streets (above Akhunbaev street). The list also included the Oncology Center and the Republican Center for Psychiatry and Narcology.
Additionally, there was a noted decrease in water pressure in the 10th microdistrict.
Immediately after receiving information about the accident, employees of the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkekvodokanal" and the Oktobersky District Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic urgently arrived at the scene and worked throughout the night to resolve the issue.
Restoration work on the water supply continues, and it is expected that water supply will be fully restored by the evening of November 14, 2025.
