Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh Dastan Bekeshev called for the reform of the existing alimony system, proposing a new model of state support for children whose parents are divorcing.

According to Bekeshev, the current mechanism for collecting alimony is ineffective and often does not provide children with the necessary financial resources for a normal existence.

“When a child is born, in the event of a divorce, a minimum amount of alimony payments should be established. The state should take on these obligations in the form of benefits, for example, five or ten thousand soms per month. The father automatically becomes a debtor to the state. We need to move to such an approach. If a person becomes a parent, they must think in advance about how to provide for their child. Otherwise, we see a situation where everyone is to blame except for them. They must take responsibility,” the deputy stated.

Deputy Attorney General Umutkan Konkubaeva supported this initiative but noted that the introduction of such a system could lead to negative social consequences.

She expressed the opinion that such measures could reduce young people's interest in starting a family and getting married.
