1500 calls a day. The Bishkek Emergency Medical Center will increase the number of dispatchers

In Bishkek, there is a shortage of dispatchers taking calls to the number 103. In this regard, it is planned to increase their number. This was reported by the director of the Emergency Medical Center, Iskender Shayakhmetov, in an interview with the "Kabar" agency, specifying that this is the reason for delays in connecting with medical workers.

Shayakhmetov pointed out that an automated system has been implemented in the Center, allowing real-time tracking of ambulance crews and directing the nearest available team to the call. "Previously, if a call came from the upper part of the city, a crew could be sent from the lower part. Now the system automatically selects the crew closest to the location of the call," he added.

However, as the director noted, during peak hours, when there are only 8 dispatchers, there is a staff shortage, which leads to the formation of queues. On average, about 1500 calls are received daily on number 103, of which 160–180 are consultation calls.

"After the construction of the new station on Suerkulova Street is completed, it is planned to increase the number of dispatchers to 24. Currently, it is impossible to expand the staff due to limited space in the building. The Minister of Health has instructed to increase the number of dispatchers by 8, bringing their total to 16. The identified problems will be addressed, but it will take time. If we manage to implement the planned measures, it will significantly improve the accessibility and quality of emergency medical care for the population," concluded Shayakhmetov.
