Kyrgyzstan will receive $50 million from Saudi Arabia for new schools

The first phase has been completed: 30 schools have been built across the country

Kyrgyzstan will receive 187.5 million Saudi riyals from Saudi Arabia, which is equivalent to approximately 50 million dollars, to finance the construction of new schools. This became possible thanks to the draft law on the ratification of the loan agreement, which was presented to the Jogorku Kenesh.

The loan will be provided for a period of 25 years with a grace period of 5 years, and its interest rate will be 1.5% per annum.

It is planned that the funds will be used for the construction of five educational institutions and seven additional buildings in Bishkek, as well as for the construction of two schools in the Chui region.

Work on the project is scheduled for the period from 2026 to 2029.

The first phase has previously been successfully completed, during which 30 schools were built throughout the republic.
