A video has appeared on social media showing how a wolf was hit by a car in the Alaykuu Valley, located in the Osh region.

This information was confirmed by Jenishbek Bekhtashov, a game manager from the Osh regional department of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision of the Kyrgyz Republic, responsible for the Kara-Kuljin district.

According to him, the recording has sparked active discussions among users. The incident occurred on January 23, 2026.

"The video shows that the hunters who hit the wolf are representatives of the Kara-Kuljin district and had all the necessary permits. Recently, there has been an increase in the number of wolves in the Alaykuu Valley, which prompted local residents to seek help from hunters. As a result, they organized a hunt," Bekhtashov explained.

The hunting season is established in a specific manner. Previously, the hunting season for partridges and hares lasted until January 25. From January 26, a new season dedicated to wolf hunting began. Hunters with permits have the legal right to shoot wolves and can also use weapons and traps.

Additionally, monetary rewards are provided for controlling the population of predatory animals. The ministry pays hunters bonuses for the destruction of wolves and jackals, amounting to 6,000 soms for a wolf and 2,000 soms for a jackal," he added.
