On the territory of the Jalal-Abad region, hunting teams and representatives of limited liability companies engaged in the use of hunting grounds have shot 82 wolves and 1051 jackals.

Sherikbay Shaimkulov, head of the department of specially protected natural areas of the Jalal-Abad regional office of the Ministry of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, reported that special commissions were formed at the beginning of this year as part of the implementation of government resolution No. 89 dated February 26, 2016.

To enhance the effectiveness of monitoring the population of wild predators such as wolves and jackals, the management began accepting applications from hunting teams formed from local hunters. As a result, 122 teams, which had all the necessary documents and paid the fees, were issued permits.

Informational sessions were held with hunters regarding safety rules during hunting and the necessity of strict compliance with legislation.

Wildlife specialists and rangers of the management took necessary measures to reduce the population of wolves and jackals as part of their service plans.

Commissions operating in the Toktogul, Chatkal, Nooken, and Bazar-Korgon districts, as well as in the cities of Kara-Kul and Kök-Jangak, processed the skins of 22 wolves and 938 jackals in 2025. All documents, including photo and video materials, were sent to the Ministry of Natural Resources for the payment of rewards to hunters.

The hunting societies "Okhota-Keydji," "On-Acha," "Zhoon-Terek," "Beke-Chal," and "Altyn-Zhayyk" plan to shoot 97 wolves and 205 jackals in accordance with the biotechnical plans for 2025. To date, they have already hunted 60 wolves and 113 jackals, which totals 82 wolves and 1051 jackals, as noted by Shaimkulov.

Currently, the reward for one wolf is 6,000 soms, and for a jackal — 2,000 soms.

It is worth noting that in 2021, the ministry proposed increasing the reward amounts: for a wolf — up to 10,000 soms, and for a jackal — up to 5,000 soms; however, these amounts have remained unchanged to this day.
