In the run-up to the New Year, hunters from the Kochkor district handed over the skins of wolves and jackals they had hunted to the commission.

According to available information, 30 jackals and 12 wolves were killed during the hunt. These skins were submitted to the state commission for further processing.

The commission placed special tags on the skins of the 30 jackals and 12 wolves. After that, the carcasses of the jackals were disposed of and placed in a livestock burial site (bekkari).

This event was organized with the aim of regulating the population of wild animals and ensuring the safety of the local population.
As reported by Turmush in mid-January 2025, the damage caused by predators to livestock farmers in the Naryn region over the year amounted to 23 million 139 thousand soms.

As a result of the attacks, 64 heads of cattle, 368 horses, and 214 sheep and goats were lost. As part of special measures involving hunters, 103 wolves, 1 wolf pup, and 181 jackals were killed in the region.

According to a resolution from the government of Kyrgyzstan, hunters receive monetary rewards for the culling of predatory animals: 6,000 soms for one wolf, 1,500 soms for a wolf pup, and 2,000 soms for a jackal.

After submitting the necessary documents, hunters are paid a reward of 4,800 soms for a wolf, 1,600 soms for a jackal, and 1,200 soms for a wolf pup, taking into account tax withholdings and contributions to the Social Fund.
