In the mountains of Naryn, hunters tracked a pack of wolves — two predators are injured, one shot dead

In the Ak-Talinsky district, local hunter Turat Mambetsadykov killed one wolf.

Shepherds from the village of Ak-Kiya reached out to hunters for help, as the wolf population had significantly increased and they began attacking livestock.

A resident of the village of Kara-Suu, Turat Mambetsadykov, went hunting with other hunters. In the Toook area, they encountered a group of eight wolves, one of which the hunter was able to shoot, while two others were injured and fled.



According to the directives of the government of Kyrgyzstan, hunters receive monetary rewards for the shooting of predatory animals: 6,000 soms for a wolf, 1,500 soms for a wolf pup, and 2,000 soms for a jackal.

After providing the necessary documents, hunters receive 4,800 soms for a wolf, 1,600 soms for a jackal, and 1,200 soms for a wolf pup, with taxes and contributions to the Social Fund deducted.

In 2023, a total of 117 wolves (amounting to 702,000 soms), 98 jackals (196,000 soms), and 2 wolf pups (3,000 soms) were shot in the Naryn region, resulting in a total of 901,000 soms in rewards from the state.

Official data on the number of wolves shot in the Naryn region in 2023:

- Ak-Talinsky district: 10 wolves (60,000 soms), 17 jackals (34,000 soms), 1 wolf pup (1,500 soms);

- At-Bashinsky district: 58 wolves (348,000 soms), 6 jackals (12,000 soms);

- Jumgal district: 15 wolves (90,000 soms), 27 jackals (54,000 soms);

- Kochkor district: 24 wolves (144,000 soms), 38 jackals (76,000 soms);

- Naryn district: 10 wolves (60,000 soms), 10 jackals (20,000 soms), 1 wolf pup (1,500 soms).
