In the village of Ak-Tal, located in the Ak-Tal district of the Naryn region, local hunters successfully shot 22 jackals since November 2025.

The village elder, Dastan Imankbekov, noted that the hunted animals were delivered to the district's agricultural development management for registration and marking. Hunters receive a reward of about 1600 soms for each captured jackal.
Dastan Imankbekov also added that due to the characteristics of the terrain, where the northern part of the village is surrounded by the wooded bank of the Naryn River, the number of jackals in Ak-Tal is higher than in other settlements. In the evenings, these predators come close to the village and exhibit aggressive behavior, causing fear among both children and adults. There have been cases where jackals attacked domestic animals, such as chickens and turkeys, and sometimes even lambs and kids. The payment of 1600 soms for each shot jackal is a support for local hunters, but according to the elder, additional assistance would be very beneficial.
