On Horseback After a Wolf: Ak-Tala Resident Shot the Predator<{short}>Turmush — On January 16, Muratbek Esenkhanov, a resident of the village of Terek in the Ak-Tala district of Naryn region, performed an unusual feat by shooting a large wolf while herding sheep.

When he was in the Tuyuk-Koo area, the shepherds reported a wolf that was sneaking up on the sheep. Without hesitation, Esenkhanov jumped on his horse and chased after the predator, successfully shooting it.

“So far this winter, I have already shot two wolves. Last year in the village of Bayetov, hunters received rewards for shooting wolves, and now they say we will also get something, but the timing is still unknown,” he noted.

In the village of Terek, the situation is calm; there are no predators here. However, in the areas of Kara-Suu and Maystan, the situation is more tense. We, the hunters, gather at the request of local residents and go out to hunt wolves. Yesterday, January 16, while I was herding sheep, I was informed that a wolf was roaming at the foot of the hill. I quickly cut off its path and chased it on horseback, ultimately managing to shoot it. It turned out to be quite a large wolf,” Esenkhanov added.
