In the Uzgen district of the Osh region, a villager was allegedly beaten by a law enforcement officer, sources reported.

According to preliminary data, the beating was carried out by an officer of the special forces regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The reasons for the incident are still unknown. However, it is known that the victim was taken to the hospital.

The Osh regional internal affairs department reported that this fact has been registered with the Uzgen district police and a preliminary investigation has been initiated.

“A forensic medical examination has been appointed regarding the victim. A legal decision will be made based on the results of the investigation,” the statement said.

The press service of the special forces regiment of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic reported that a service investigation is being conducted regarding this incident.

“Additional information will be provided at the conclusion of the investigation,” the press service added.

The incident occurred in the village of Erdik in the Kurshab ayil district of the Uzgen region.

According to the head of this village, Urbay Türkbajev, the conflict between the two parties began after a verbal argument.

“It’s hard to say anything for sure, as I was not a witness to the incident myself. It happened 2-3 days ago. They say that the beaten guy told the landowner, ‘You blocked the road to the school, remove your fence.’ And the landowner apparently said something in response. That’s how the verbal exchange started, which escalated into a fight. The landowner, who is said to have inflicted bodily harm on the guy, works in law enforcement. Everything is fine now — the elders came and reconciled the guys. The injured guy is feeling better and is in the hospital. All this happened 2-3 days ago.

Previously, the road from the house of the landowner, who is said to have beaten the guy, led to the school. Then, apparently, the road was blocked by a fence — in general, the conflict arose due to the request to remove this fence. Now the youth have removed the fence, cleared the area, and restored the road for vehicle passage,” U. Türkbajev said.
