The meeting was creative and heartfelt
On February 3, 2026, a heartfelt meeting took place in Almaty, featuring the granddaughter of the famous Kyrgyz writer and diplomat Chyngyz Aitmatov — Chinara Aitmatova, and the poet, public figure, and diplomat Olzhas Suleimenov. This became known thanks to a publication by political and public figure, former member of the Jogorku Kenesh Zainidin Kurmanov on social media.

During the event, Olzhas Suleimenov was awarded a commemorative medal from the Issyk-Kul Forum dedicated to Ch. Aitmatov.
Chinara presented Olzhas Omarovich with a copy of her nomination of O.O. Suleimenov to the Nobel Committee for the Nobel Peace Prize, as well as two books: her monograph "The First," dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the founding father of Kyrgyz statehood, Imanaly Aydarbekov (St. Petersburg, 2014), and the memoirs of her father, Professor of Law Karpak Kurmanov, titled "Confession of a Lawyer." This second, revised edition (2017) is considered an outstanding book about the history of brotherhood and friendship between Kyrgyz and Kazakhs.
On May 16, 2026, Olzhas Suleimenov will turn 90 years old. Zainidin Kurmanov expressed wishes for health and success to this outstanding individual, who is dear to every Kyrgyz heart.
