In Bishkek, the construction of a new multifunctional facility has begun at the site of the fountain complex near the Central Department Store (TSUM), which will become an important symbol of the renewed city. This was reported by the construction organization.

“We understand the concerns of the residents. Therefore, it is important to explain that the renovation of the fountain complex is part of our project. We will not only preserve the fountains but also make them more attractive. This is a step for the benefit of the city and its residents,” added representatives of the initiative group.
Positive conclusion of the urban planning council
According to the project representatives, the fountain complex will remain in its place and will be completely transformed into a modern architectural element that will complement the new urban space.
It is important to note that the fountain complex has been privately owned since 1996. It is often claimed on social media that it is state property, which is not true.
Renovation of the fountains
The project representatives noted that the fountain system is part of the engineering infrastructure and plays a role as a cooling element for buildings.
The dismantling of the fountains was never considered
The old fountain complex, created many years ago, has long operated with serious technical problems. The engineering systems were outdated and did not meet modern sanitation and ecological requirements.
Moreover, the architecture did not take into account the climatic conditions of Bishkek, and some greenery was removed in agreement with city services for safety reasons.
As part of the new project, the fountain complex will not be dismantled but will undergo a complete modernization: engineering systems will be updated, modern technologies and artistic lighting will be implemented, creating a comfortable architectural environment that meets modern standards.
Comfort in the summer months
Previously, it was difficult to stay near the fountains on hot summer days due to a lack of shade and coolness. The new project will create an enclosed space that provides natural air circulation and shade, allowing residents and tourists to comfortably spend time near the fountains even on the hottest days.
Culture and entertainment in one place
A modern multifunctional complex will be built at the site of the fountains, which will combine:
- Entertainment areas for family recreation
- Cultural spaces for events, exhibitions, and urban initiatives
- Business venues attracting international brands
“We are already negotiating with foreign brands that can improve the level of service and leisure in the capital,” the project management reported.
International cooperation and expertise
The project is being implemented by LLC "Central Asian Trade Company," whose founders have experience in creating large infrastructure projects abroad. The project is carried out in cooperation with the Old Bishkek team.
Professional visualization
The architectural design and visualization of the project were carried out by professional teams from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, and Russia. As a result of a comparative analysis of proposals, the option developed by Kyrgyz architects was chosen, highlighting the importance of supporting local specialists.
A space for all residents
Project representatives emphasize that the new complex will become an ideal place for relaxation, cultural events, and entertainment in the city center.
The fountain complex with figures of horses and an eagle will not only be preserved but also modernized, becoming an even more attractive element of the urban environment. It will be equipped with musical accompaniment and modern 3D visual effects, creating a unique atmosphere.
The new project will become a center of attraction for residents and guests of Bishkek, combining cultural, social, and entertainment functions. The complex will provide free Wi-Fi and other amenities for a comfortable stay, making it a bright symbol of modern Bishkek and its dynamic development.
