Who else benefits from video surveillance?
Video cameras as part of the "Safe City" project record events not only in public places but also in the buildings of the Bishkek Internal Affairs Department. This was reported by Azamat Toktonaliev, head of the capital's Internal Affairs Department, during the presentation of the new operational center.
The operational center is located in the old building of the State National Security Committee, where the city's Internal Affairs Department has moved.
In addition to streets and shopping areas, data from video cameras also comes from schools, district Internal Affairs Departments, mobile patrols, and body cameras used by patrol officers and precinct officers.
President Sadyr Japarov previously reported that over 2,000 video cameras have been installed in Kyrgyzstan over the past three years as part of the "Safe Country" program. He also promised to increase this number to 20,000 to improve safety and order in the country.
