The new rules relieve social workers from the need to independently purchase insurance policies
In Kyrgyzstan, the Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration is implementing new, simpler rules for personal assistants who provide assistance to people with disabilities. According to official reports, the changes concern both the process of paying insurance contributions and the amount of remuneration for assistants.
Starting from March 1, 2026, personal assistants will not be required to independently purchase mandatory state insurance policies. This obligation will be transferred to the level of territorial divisions of the ministry and the tax service, which will organize direct interaction between the agencies.
Additionally, starting from February 1 of this year, a fixed monthly payment for the services of assistants has been established — 8,697.32 soms. The ministry emphasizes that these changes are aimed at simplifying procedures and supporting citizens who care for children and people with disabilities.
