During the meeting of the board on February 12, the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, announced the creation of a general plan for Bishkek, which covers the period until 2050.
According to the mayor, the final approval of this document is scheduled for 2026.

“Over the past year, extensive research has been conducted on various aspects of the city's development, and 25 meetings have been organized with the participation of government structures and specialized experts. In addition, public hearings were held, with more than 500 participants, resulting in 729 proposals and comments,” noted Junushaliev.
The adoption of the general plan will serve as a strategic foundation for the long-term growth of the capital until 2050.
