In Karakul, the memory of veterans of the peacekeeping mission on the Tajik-Afghan border was honored

Today, a memorial meeting-requiem was held on the "Жеңиш" alley, dedicated to the veterans who served in the peacekeeping mission on the Tajik-Afghan border in the Batken region from 1993 to 1999.

Among those present were the deputy mayor, the chairman of the city council, as well as employees of institutions and enterprises, representatives of education, and local schoolchildren.

The event began with a minute of silence in memory of the veterans who participated in the peacekeeping mission. Then, wreaths were laid at the monument, and participants read the Quran.

Awards and Assistance

During the event, 22 veterans who participated in the peacekeeping mission received badges "For Service in Tajikistan." Additionally, all veterans were provided with financial assistance of 5,000 soms, which was transferred to their personal accounts from the local budget.

The meeting was organized to honor the courage of those who made a significant contribution to the preservation of the country's integrity and peace, as well as to foster patriotic feelings among the youth.
