In Bishkek, a large eco-festival will be held in honor of the Nowruz holiday. The public organization "Resource Center for the Elderly" is organizing the event "Sumölök Fest" as part of its projects "Zhashyl Konushtar" and "Araket," with the support of MTU No. 109. The festival is scheduled for March 21 and will begin at 10:30 at the new sports ground in the Ak-Ordo residential complex, located at the corner of Gagarin and Imanaliev streets. The main goal of the event is to collectively care for nature, revive traditions, and strengthen neighborhood ties.
The festival program includes ecological and cultural initiatives. A central element will be an eco-cleanup, during which participants will be able to clean public spaces and prepare them for the spring season. At the same time, a themed fair will take place on the site, where residents can purchase seedlings for greening their plots, as well as participate in a charitable exchange. Everyone is welcome to bring clean items, clothing, or books to give to those in need or for exchange, as well as to make voluntary donations.
After the landscaping work is completed, festival guests will be treated to a traditional spring dish — sümölök. The festive atmosphere will be created by interesting national games in which both adults and children can participate. The organizers invite all residents and guests of the capital to join the festival, bringing along good spirits and items for exchange, to together make the city cleaner and life in new buildings brighter and more comfortable.
