The inventory of green spaces has started in Bishkek with the aim of creating electronic maps. According to the mayor's office, the information about mass logging of trees on Erkindik Boulevard is false.
As part of the initiative of the Environmental Council, a decision was made to create a register of all green spaces in the city. This proposal received support from citizens, who called for all trees to be included in the register.
In this regard, the mayor of the capital, Aibek Junushaliev, instructed the Municipal Enterprise "Center for Digital Technologies" to develop electronic maps, where residents can access information about the trees.
The inventory work has already begun by the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkekzelenstroy" in collaboration with other services, covering all parks and squares in Bishkek.
Each tree receives a unique tag that acts as a "passport." It contains key data: tree species, age, trunk diameter, height, condition, and other characteristics. This will allow specialists to monitor the "history" of each tree and ensure proper care.
The inventory aims to account for the condition of trees, plan their maintenance, timely treatment, and replacement of hazardous plantings. Its goal is to preserve and develop the green fund of the capital.
