Trees were planted here, among which is the plane tree — a symbol of the director's creativity.

On March 25, 2026, a park dedicated to the People's Artist of the Kyrgyz Republic Algimantas Vidugiris was opened in Bishkek. The venue is the courtyard of the house at 64/1 Tynystanova Street, where the director lived for nearly 20 years, starting from 1983.

During the event, participants planted saplings, including the plane tree, which is symbolically associated with Vidugiris's creativity.

Notable attendees included Raiva Toygonbaeva — film director and wife of People's Artist Gennady Bazarov, former Deputy Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan Mira Jangarcheva, public figure Assol Moldokmatova, as well as neighbors and close friends of Roza Tabaldieva and Algimantas Vidugiris.

"I can't say who exactly proposed to create this park — the children or the neighbors, but it truly symbolizes the Kyrgyz intelligentsia. Despite the fact that Algis was a Baltic, he sincerely loved Kyrgyzstan and became our күйөө бала/son-in-law," noted Mira Jangarcheva.

Assol Moldokmatova emphasized the significance of this event: "Algimantas Vidugiris is an outstanding personality. It is nice to see that his homeland appreciates and remembers him. May this plane tree live for many years and delight future generations. It is important to remember his contribution and watch his films."

Raiva Toygonbaeva, who has known the family for over fifty years, added: "This park is a memory not only of Algis but also of Roza Tabaldieva, who we miss very much. Vidugiris was a person with a rare inner freedom — a director, screenwriter, and researcher. He created films for people and always listened to them."

The opening of the park is timed to the 90th anniversary of Algimantas Vidugiris's birth. Currently, "Kyrgyzfilm" is working on a documentary about the director, who became one of the founders of the so-called "Kyrgyz miracle." The film crew was also present at the ceremony.
