Kyrgyzstan Championship: "Toktogul" strengthened by defender of the Georgian national team

The football club "Toktogul," which competes in the Kyrgyzstan Premier League, has introduced its new players.

The team from the eponymous city has strengthened its lineup by signing Georgian national team defender Solomon Kvirkvelia and Kyrgyz forward Eldar Moldojunusov.
Solomon Kvirkvelia, who is 33 years old, has previously played for clubs such as Rubin Kazan (87 matches), Lokomotiv Moscow (80 matches), Metalist Kharkiv (6 matches), Neftchi Baku (33 matches), and Al-Uhdud in Saudi Arabia (33 matches).

His last club was Torpedo from Georgia, where he played 18 matches and scored 2 goals.

While at Lokomotiv, Kvirkvelia faced stars like Fernando Torres, and at Al-Uhdud, he played against Cristiano Ronaldo and Roberto Firmino. He also represented the Georgian national team against Wales with Gareth Bale and Germany with Marco Reus and Thomas Müller.

In 2024, Kvirkvelia represented Georgia at the European Championship, where the team reached the Round of 16, defeating the Portuguese national team with Cristiano Ronaldo in their lineup.

Eldar Moldojunusov played for Neftchi from Kochkor-Ata last season.

The presentation of the team's new players took place on January 14 in Bishkek.

At Toktogul, Kvirkvelia will wear number 33, while Moldojunusov will wear number 10.
