This match, which took place on January 6 in Jeddah as part of the first round of the group stage of the AFC U-23 Asian Cup, ended with a narrow victory for the hosts, 1-0.
The referee of the match, Chinese referee Fu Ming, sent off a player from the Kyrgyzstan team in the 35th minute and then awarded a penalty against them in the 77th minute.
At the press conference after the match, Lacerda answered questions about the referee's performance.
“I have no doubt in my abilities and in the capabilities of my team; however, some of the referee's decisions today were controversial. We will try to focus on the next game,” he noted.
Fu Ming became known among the fans of the Kyrgyzstan national team during the 2019 Asian Cup when he officiated the Round of 16 match against the UAE team, where he also made a number of controversial decisions in favor of the tournament hosts.
