In the 58th minute of the match, the Iranians opened the scoring. The captain of the Kyrgyz team, Said Datsiev, mishit the ball, allowing the opponent to strike powerfully at the goal — 0:1.
In the 73rd minute, during one of the attacks, the Iranian captain was fouled harshly by Kristiyan Brauzman. The referee, using VAR, confirmed the foul and sent off the Iranian player.
Despite having a numerical advantage, the Kyrgyz team was unable to score during regular time.
8 minutes were added to the regular time. And in the very first minute of stoppage time, the Kyrgyz national team managed to equalize: Said Datsiev made an impressive pass to Marlen Murzakhmatov, who found himself one-on-one with the goalkeeper and sent the ball into the net.
Although the assistant referee initially signaled for offside, VAR confirmed that the player was in the correct position, and the goal was awarded — 1:1.
The Kyrgyz continued to attack, and in the 90+5 minute, Murzakhmatov scored again, but this goal was disallowed after a VAR review.
However, in the 90+9 minute, Datsiev took a long-range shot, and the Iranian goalkeeper made an error, allowing the ball to slip into the net.
As a result, the Kyrgyz national team won with a score of 2:1, earning an additional 3 points, and Said Datsiev was named the best player of the match.
