Writer Eva Alli reproached Kyrgyzstani people for not reading her books
Kyrgyz writer Eva Alli, the author of the novel "Asian Wild Orchid," has removed her books from bookstores in Bishkek. On her Twitter page, she explained her actions by stating that "myrki" (a derogatory term used in Kyrgyzstan for uncultured, marginal people) do not read her books.

Eva Alli also reported that she had planned to sell 1 million copies of her adventure-comedy novel "Asian Wild Orchid," but her intention did not materialize. She blamed the Kyrgyzstani people for this, using profanity: "Myrki don’t read books, well, to hell with you, I’m taking all my works of art off the shelves," the author wrote.

– The novel by writer Eva Alli "Asian Wild Orchid" was published, as far as I remember, about five years ago. And now Alli, burning with anger on social media, is removing the print run from bookstore shelves. She calls all her potential readers "myrki." In my opinion, this step is thoughtless and inadequate, – commented the actions of Eva Alli Bishkek writer Alexander Molchanov.

According to him, "if this is an attempt at provocation, it is quite belated, and moreover, crude, clumsy, and tasteless. Such provocation cannot attract attention to a book that has not been in demand. The stage image of a sharp, aggressive woman does not look appealing if this is an image, not the author herself."

– If the emotions expressed in very offensive statements are sincere, then the situation is even worse. What do Eva Alli's statements say about her? That she considers herself a genius writer, while those readers who do not recognize her talent are idiots. From the perspective of literary ethics, such an attitude is unacceptable. I believe that you can feel any way about the reader: love, hate... But you must respect the reader. If the reader is a fool, then why are you writing for them? Maybe because you are the same? – notes Molchanov. – Eva Alli’s ambitions are excessively inflated. It seems to me that the author is focused only on herself, not noticing those around her, who serve for Alli only as a means to achieve her goals.
