Illustrator of works by Kyrgyz writers Alexander Ivanovich Misyurev

A. Misyurev fruitfully designed books published by republican publishing houses. He illustrated works by Kyrgyz writers Ch. Aitmatov ("Soldatenok," 1974, linocut), A. Tokombaev ("My Republic," 1974, linocut), T. Sydykbekov ("Address to Man," 1969, linocut), B. Zhakiev ("Meetings in the City of Winds," 1969, monotype), and other representatives of multinational Soviet literature (L. Tatyanycheva. "Zoryanka," 1973, wood engraving). He successfully worked on the design and layout of art books, photo albums, and textbooks.
Misyurev's work in the field of illustrating political books has been marked by significant achievements. His linocut illustrations for V. I. Lenin's book "Declaration of the Rights of the Working and Exploited People" (Maket, 1970, linocut), awarded the Diploma of the I degree at the XII All-Union Book Competition (Moscow, 1971), demonstrated the artist's active civic stance and his extraordinary skill in creating multi-figure, sharply composed sheets. The linocuts convincingly reproduce the events of the revolutionary era and the enthusiasm of the masses; they have a call-to-action, journalistic character. Misyurev's next significant work was the artistic design of "The Communist Manifesto" by K. Marx and F. Engels (Maket, 1975, linocut, Diploma of the Organizing Committee of the International Exhibition "Book-75"), executed with a strict selection of means, emphasizing the international character and political significance of the greatest document in human history. Misyurev returned to the image of political books in the design of "April Theses" by V. I. Lenin (Maket, 1977, linocut). He successfully participated in the International Exhibition of Book Art in Leipzig (1976) with his competition work "Design of a Quote by V. I. Lenin," for which he was awarded a Silver Medal.
