PM2.5 consists of fine particles with a diameter of less than 2.5 microns, which is 30 times smaller than a human hair. These particles include dust, ash, soot, as well as sulfates and nitrates that are present in the air as suspended particles. They are the cause of the smog characteristic of large cities.
On a global level, as of March 16, Bishkek ranks first (11:00) in terms of air pollution.
