According to information from the Yonhap agency, Kyrgyzstan has become the largest buyer of used cars from South Korea.

Over the past 12 months, there has been a significant increase in interest in the market for used Korean-made cars, with supplies significantly rising to Eurasian countries. Key buyers have emerged from states that were not previously major destinations for exports, according to data from the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Resources, as well as the Institute of Automotive Engineering.

According to the report, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, and Kazakhstan have become the main importers of used cars from South Korea from the beginning of the year until October.

During this period, Kyrgyzstan imported cars worth $2.6 billion, while Russia purchased cars worth $909 million, and Kazakhstan bought cars worth $664 million.

Additionally, "relatively expensive cars" are arriving in Kyrgyzstan, which are subsequently resold in Russia, the agency reports.

The total export volume of used cars from South Korea from January to November reached $8.4 billion, which is 80% higher than the figures for the same period last year, when it amounted to $4.6 billion.
