The head of the association of oil traders in Kyrgyzstan, Kanatbek Eshatov, commented on the decrease in retail prices for gasoline and diesel fuel in an interview with IA "Kabar." He noted that this decrease is related to the sale of fuel stocks accumulated last year, while prices for new supplies are still being formed. Eshatov also mentioned that the volumes of fuel required for Kyrgyzstan will be provided by Russia on preferential terms.

In response to a question about fuel prices, Eshatov reported a decrease of 1–1.5 soms, which is due to seasonal factors. This decrease occurred because, at the end of December, Russian refineries lowered wholesale prices on fuel stocks before the New Year holidays. After January 15, the plants resumed operations, and new quotes for February are expected by the end of the month. “Only after that will it be possible to assess how retail prices will develop,” he concluded.
