The Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan is actively working on a number of projects aimed at improving the efficiency and reliability of hydroelectric power stations. According to the agency, in 2026, the Open Joint Stock Company "Electric Stations" plans to carry out important work at several energy facilities.

In particular, the commissioning of the second hydro unit of the Kambaratinskaya HPP-2 is expected in the spring. This stage is part of the ministry's programs aimed at the phased development of the station's capacity.

The reconstruction of two hydro units at the Uch-Kurgan HPP will also begin in the spring. Work on unit No. 2 will start in February, while work on unit No. 1 will commence on March 1. The parallel execution of the reconstruction will allow for a comprehensive update of the equipment and effective coordination of all processes.

At the Kambaratinskaya HPP-1, work continues on the construction and improvement of infrastructure. In particular, finishing works are being carried out in the administrative and household complex, and the installation of engineering communications, including the sewage and water supply systems, is underway in the under-construction dormitory.

Additionally, work has begun at the Kurpsayskaya HPP to replace two autotransformers (AT-1 and AT-2) in the 220 kV switchgear to increase capacity. The first autotransformer is scheduled to be delivered in January 2026, and the second in March 2026. Installation is planned to start on April 1, 2026, with completion expected by autumn. This project will significantly expand the capabilities of the Kurpsayskaya HPP.

Also, in 2026, a phased approach to repair work in the administrative buildings of the branches of the Open Joint Stock Company "Electric Stations" is planned.
