In Kyrgyzstan, the shortage of vegetable oil will be addressed by introducing new varieties

In the Naryn region, specifically in the Ak-Tal district, the processing of safflower oil has begun. At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh Committee on Agricultural Policy, Water Resources, Environmental Protection, and Subsoil Use, the Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Industry Bakyt Torobaev shared this news.

He noted that the Ershovsky variety was planted in this area on rain-fed lands.

“From each hectare, we managed to harvest 20 centners of crops. Our goal is to solve the problem of vegetable oil shortage in the country by 2029. We are also considering the possibility of planting other varieties that were imported from the USA,” Torobaev added.
