In the Naryn region, in the Ak-Tala district, the modernization of equipment for a company engaged in the filtration of safflower oil has been completed. The project, funded by the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP), allowed for the purchase of modern equipment from Turkey, which is already in operation. According to the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic, the company is currently operating steadily.
With the new production line, it has become possible to process up to 800 kilograms of safflower oil daily, significantly increasing production volumes.
Previously, in order to meet customer demands, the company produced no more than 50 liters of oil per day. Since it began operations in the fall of 2023, 5 tons of seeds were processed last year, and over 10 tons have already been processed this year.
Currently, the cost of a liter of safflower oil is 200 soms.
The implementation of this project opens new opportunities for local farmers and contributes to the creation of added value through the processing of agricultural products grown in local fields.
