Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Kyrgyz Republic and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, shared information about support for farmers in the Talas region in an interview with First Radio. This information was announced by the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Kyrgyz Republic.

The Minister emphasized that in the fall, when the price of beans significantly drops, 100 million soms were allocated to assist local farmers. As part of this program, the government purchased 1,000 tons of beans at a price of 95 soms per kilogram.

“At this time of year, farmers need to prepare their children for school, and they are in urgent need of financial support. The government has not remained indifferent to these needs,” noted Torobaev.

The minister also reported on the anticipated increase in bean prices in January and February.

Currently, active negotiations are underway for the export of beans to countries such as India, Iran, Russia, and Turkey, and the supply of products to the Dubai market is also being discussed.

Furthermore, farmers from the Talas region are recommended to consider diversifying their crops, including the cultivation of sugar beets and safflower. Safflower, in particular, is used for the production of oil, cake, and straw, making it a valuable feed for livestock. Currently, more than 50 small enterprises for safflower oil production are operating in Kyrgyzstan.
