In the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, in the village of Kyzyl-Suu, over 4,000 households and about 18,000 residents have gained access to clean drinking water.

Present at the event were the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing Bakyt Torobaev, the head of the World Bank office in Kyrgyzstan Hugh Riddell, and representatives of local authorities.

The old water supply system, commissioned in 1950, used a gravity-fed system to draw water from mountain springs. The water was treated manually and supplied on a schedule, leading to quality issues and frequent interruptions.

Now, the new system ensures a continuous supply of clean water for all residents.

Bakyt Torobaev emphasized that one of the government's priority tasks is to provide the population with quality drinking water, and work on modernizing the water infrastructure will continue.
