Bakyt Torobaev, Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry, shared information on how various sectors of the economy and the population were prepared for the autumn-winter period of 2025–2026.
According to him, additional monitoring was conducted by state and local authorities, as well as energy companies. All planned activities for winter preparation have been fully completed.
Repair Works
At the Tash-Kumyr and Kambaratinskaya HPP-2, major repairs have been completed on one hydro unit each. In addition, repair works on hydro units were also carried out at the Kurpsayskaya and Shamal-Dysay HPPs.
At the Toktogul HPP, all four hydro units are operating normally. Rehabilitation works have been completed, resulting in an increase in capacity by 240 MW. The total capacity of the HPP now stands at 1440 MW, whereas it was previously 1200 MW.
The Uch-Korgon HPP also has all four hydro units in working condition. In 2024–2025, two of them were replaced with new ones, increasing the capacity by 18 MW. The replacement of the remaining two hydro units is scheduled for 2026.
As for the Bishkek and Osh CHPs, all planned repair works for this year have been successfully completed. Steam boilers and turbo units have been prepared for stable operation during the heating season.
The "National Electric Network of Kyrgyzstan" has also done significant work: this year, 1320.9 km of power lines with a voltage of 35–500 kV have been repaired, exceeding the planned targets. Lines of 6–10–0.4 kV have been repaired over a total length of 3076.7 km, which is 99.3% of the plan. Repairs have also been carried out on four large transformers with a capacity of 50.5 MVA and 3292 units of substation equipment. New construction and reconstruction works have been completed by more than 100%,” he noted.
Torobaev added that all heating supply enterprises of the municipalities have completed the repair works planned for this year and are operating normally.
