The press service of the Ministry of Energy of Kyrgyzstan reported the commissioning of the fourth hydro unit of the Toktogul HPP.
According to the ministry, the reconstruction work has been successfully completed. Energy Minister Talaybek Ibraev officially launched the upgraded unit, as well as the second hydro unit of the Uch-Kurgan HPP.
Currently, the capacity of the Toktogul HPP is 1,440 megawatts, which significantly increases its production capabilities.
The completion of the modernization of all four hydro units of the Toktogul HPP will enhance the reliability of the station and contribute to the stability of the entire energy system in the context of growing demand for electricity.
The reconstruction of the second hydro unit at the Uch-Kurgan HPP has also been completed, resulting in an increase in its capacity from 45 to 54 megawatts.
